    The Home Of Jazz EP

Johannesburg, South Africa – The evolving soundscape of South African music just got a fresh injection of soul and rhythm with the release of “Mzansi Groove”, a genre-blending single by Matumza & GuruLogic, featuring the smooth vocals of MODIKA.

The track is the second single from the upcoming collaborative project The Home of Jazz, and it offers a rich blend of Private School Amapiano and live jazz instrumentation. The father-son duo—GuruLogic, a seasoned jazz virtuoso, and Matumza, a rising Amapiano producer and artist—continue their mission to bridge generational and musical divides.

“Mzansi Groove” is not only a groove-laden, dancefloor-ready track but also a tribute to South Africa’s rich musical heritage. GuruLogic (real name Itumeleng Matlala) brings decades of jazz expertise, while Matumza adds a youthful, experimental edge. The addition of MODIKA’s emotive vocals completes the ensemble with lyrical depth and soul.

“We’re not just making music; we’re telling stories across generations,” said Matumza during a recent interview on Metro FM’s Encore. “Jazz is home, and Amapiano is how we bring it to the streets.”

The single follows the success of “Michelin Music”, which garnered major airplay on Kaya FM and Metro FM earlier this year. Fans can expect “Mzansi Groove” to achieve similar success, with radio DJs and streaming playlists already embracing its unique fusion sound.

An official music video for the track is also live on YouTube, capturing the vibrant, urban energy that underpins the track. Meanwhile, the full The Home of Jazz album is set to drop later this year, featuring additional collaborations with artists like Kunle Ayo and MohauSax.
