According to our news colleagues at Eyewitness News WBRE WYOU, Lackawant to County District Attorney Mark Powell declared that a “robbery gone awry” resulted in the alleged murder of Robert Baron Sr. and the arrest of Justin Schuback as a suspect.
A guy has been detained by Lackawant to County Police in connection with the death of senior Fauci businessman Robert Baron, who went missing. Mark Powell, the district attorney for Lackwana County, reported that Justin Shuback, 37, of Old Forge, was detained at his residence on Friday afternoon.
Powell claimed Schubaker was a friend of the son of the Baron but did not say what caused Schubaker’s detention. Powell suggested that a burglary gone bad may have been the murder’s driving force. Shubuck was a suspect, according to the prosecution, because DNA was found in his automobile.
At a press conference that started at 5:30 on Friday in Scranton, Powell made the announcement. No one in law enforcement will say or do anything to prevent the successful prosecution of this case, Powell said. “The Baron family has waited a long time for justice,” he added.
Powell verified that Robert Baron’s body was the one discovered following a search in Lackawant to County earlier this week. On January 26, 2017, the family of the 58-year-old Baron reported him missing, and on January 27, police found a crime scene at his pizzeria, Ghigiarelli’s, on South Main Street in Old Forge. Never was the body of the Baron located.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, personnel from numerous agencies and adjacent states searched a compound near Pagnotti Park on Cornell Street as well as the Old Forge region known as Connell’s Patch near the Popple Brothers Coal Company. The New York State Police’s autopsy dogs and a number of forensic investigators were acknowledged by Powell.
Baron’s family has been appealing for assistance and offering a $10,000 prize ever since his disappeared. Others have provided surveillance camera footage from the family that they think may be related on the fourth anniversary of Baron’s disappearance.
