A gay judge who was fired for addressing a council member’s offensive remarks made during drag queen storytime has pledged to continue discussing the “politics of killing” and maintaining his OnlyF page. Judge Gregory Locke of the New York City Administrative Court was dismissed after board member Vickie Paladino complained on Twitter about the cross-dressing event.
The former judge clarified on Twitter on Monday (April 3) that although his remarks regarding Paladino were “disrespectful,” he did not think they went beyond the standards of his profession. I lost my position as an administrative court judge in New York City last week, Locke wrote.
This happened as a result of a city councilwoman challenging a tweet I sent in reaction to her prejudiced and inaccurate comments against drag queens and the LGBTQ community in general. The comment in question was intended at councilwoman Vickie Paladino, who on March 19 on social media labeled the New York drag queen’s storytime event a “extremely shameful spectacle.”
Paladino was rebuked by Rock, who advised him to “choke on the commercial.” He lost his job, which he had been in since April 2022 when Rock, 33, was let go for “unprofessional conduct,” the New York Post reported.
The former judge had his tweets set to automatically delete, so his opinions were lost. She “exposed” his work on OnlyF when he made comments against Paladino, he said, clarifying that he had not done so during his time in New York City. Locke claimed he was “disappointed” that his previous employer did not back him during the Twitter argument.
He said, “It’s sad that New York City chose to support a fanatic with a proven track record rather than grasp the chance to speak out against the growing anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry, which is particularly virulent toward the transgender and non-binary community. “I am adamant that, despite being impolite, my tweet did not violate the Code of Ethics.
The only people who are offended by my tweets are those who are more interested in the language of policing than those who are opposed to the politics and politics of killing, according to Locke. “The most vulnerable members of the queer community are fighting for their lives,” Locke said in a statement. The last statement he made was that he would keep his OnlyF promise to continue helping “members of the LGBTQ+ community who need it most” with pro bono services.
“Sex work, including pornography, is not shameful, and I do not censor my thoughts or act in ways that would please those who hurt my community,” he continued.
