Taylor Dean Padilla-Ades Obituary: Owatonna man arrested in connection to fatal hit-and-run near Camping World; Derek Paul Denelsbeck arrest & charges

In connection with the deadly pedestrian hit-and-run that happened Wednesday morning next to Camping World, an Owatonna man has been taken into custody.

Derek Paul Denelsbeck, 42, was taken into custody on Wednesday night after police towed his car, a red pickup truck with significant front-end damage.

Taylor Dean Padilla-Ades, 31, of Lonsdale, was identified by the police as the victim. He was discovered dead on Wednesday morning close to Camping World RV Sales, in the 3700 block of County Road 45 North.

According to Chief Jeff Mundale, Padilla-Ades’ residence is unknown, and it’s possible that he was homeless.

Due to probable cause, Denelsbeck was arrested for criminal vehicular homicide and taken to the Steele County Detention Center.

The Steele County Attorney’s Office is anticipated to formally charge him on Friday.
