Mike Day, a former Navy SEAL, is the subject of an amazing real story in which he was wounded 27 times while serving in Iraq.

Four terrorist commanders are ambushed in a 12 by 12 room, and Day is the first one to enter. He killed all four terrorists in the room after the shootout, but not before suffering 27 shrapnel wounds.
Before making his way alone to a waiting aircraft that flew him to safety, Day miraculously evacuated the rest of the house and saved six women and children. The SEAL lost 25 pounds during his two weeks in the hospital. Day fought the discomfort for nearly two years after the injury, but he eventually recovered. Day’s physicians determined that, like many veterans, he had PTSD and traumatic brain damage, which is the intangible trauma of battle in the face of unfathomable suffering.
