Johannesburg, South Africa – South Africa’s jazz-Amapiano fusionists Matumza & GuruLogic have returned with an opulent offering titled “Michelin Music”, featuring Nigerian guitar maestro Kunle Ayo. The track is the lead single from their upcoming project, The Home of Jazz, and sets the tone for a genre-blending body of work that celebrates musical craftsmanship at its finest.
Inspired by the elegance and exclusivity of a Michelin-starred experience, “Michelin Music” is a sonic feast that combines the smooth improvisational edge of jazz with the groove-heavy pulse of Private School Amapiano. The result is a track that’s as refined as it is rhythmically infectious.
“It’s about musical excellence. When we say ‘Michelin Music,’ we mean sound that’s curated, plated, and served with intention,” explains Matumza, the creative architect behind the production.
Kunle Ayo, a multi-award-winning guitarist known for his work across Afro-jazz and soul, brings a deeply expressive performance to the track. His guitar riffs dance over GuruLogic’s lush keys and Matumza’s signature percussive arrangements, creating a rich, layered sound that commands repeat listens.
“Collaborating with Kunle was like pairing the perfect wine with a five-star dish,” says GuruLogic. “His tone elevated everything.”
