The teacher from LaGrange High School who went away this week is mourned by the people of Troup County. The obituary for Marcus Mayfield II states that he passed away on Wednesday at home. Mayfield, who was born on April 3, 1973, in Dudville, Alabama, earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in history and political science from Auburn University.
In addition, he received a master’s in political science. After that, he continued his education at Auburn University in Montgomery, where he received a second master’s in education. Aidan Blackwell recalls his pal as a devoted and supportive individual. “Mark was a devoted buddy who was always ready to lend a hand.
Because he didn’t care about the attention; he only wanted to help, he accomplished so much for so many people without anyone noticing, according to Blackwell. He has been a tremendous assistance in all we do, including the service club. He is always available to help with other tasks and is there for us with anything we need,” Flowers added. “I’ve always been so appreciative of everything he did for the school and the community,” the author once said. Catherine Hall, a 2016 graduate student, remembers Mayfield as being amusing and laid-back. Even the last line in her yearbook contained it.
