LOS ANGELES, CA: The latest installment of NBC’s “Dateline” features Jonathan Cruz. Cruz, a 27-year-old emergency room supervisor from Coppell, Texas, was discovered dead in his bed from gunshot wounds. His girlfriend at the scene said he committed suicide, but his family claims she shot him out of jealousy.
Cruz’s girlfriend Kelly contacted 911 at 11:30 p.m. on February 2, 2014, saying her lover shot himself to express his love, but his mother did not believe her. “I knew it didn’t make sense,” his mother, Pam Cruise, explained. “He didn’t do it.” I’m sure he didn’t. What was going on during Jonathan’s murder trial?
Kelly eventually revealed to authorities that she and Jonathan Cruz had gotten into a fight over another lady after a night of TV and a trip to China. He was in bed, she said, and she was at the foot of the bed when he urged her to cover her ears. He claimed to have then opened fire.
However, Cruise’s friends and family say he never mentioned suicide. Cruz’s death was classified as a homicide by authorities on February 2, 2014, because his family did not believe it was a suicide.
Three years later, they claim there is insufficient proof to confirm what happened. The cause of death for the 27-year-old male is uncertain, according to the autopsy report. The family believes they know what happened and has sought legal assistance.

Cruz’s complaint accuses Kelly of murder and fabricating Cruz’s suicide tale. It alludes to Kelly’s inconsistent remarks to his friend. Cruz shot himself in the head, according to one buddy, and in the chest, according to another.
After nearly two and a half hours of deliberation, a civil jury unanimously decided that Cruz’s death was not a suicide and awarded his family $206 million in damages. In civil procedures, the plaintiff’s burden of proof is much lower than that of the prosecutor in criminal proceedings. The jury determined that Kelly murdered Cruz with a greater than 50% chance, or “very likely.” There is sufficient evidence to convict Kelly.
Darrell Robertson, a retired Houston police officer, testified on behalf of the Cruz family. He claimed he had to contort his body in order for Cruz’s wound to be on the left side of his chest. Cruise went to the doctor two days earlier with right shoulder soreness, proving his case. According to Robertson, Cruz had to undergo shoulder agony in order to point the gun where he was shot, which “contradicts common sense.” Robertson also discovered bullet pieces on Kelly’s palm, back of her hand, and sweatshirt.
Kelly, Cruz’s attorney, contended that Kelly was outraged by the women with whom the groups met. He was especially upset to witness Cruise’s close friend, Emily Ramsey, cuddling two months before her death at a meal they shared. Cruise’s close buddy Jacob Bramsey was dating Ramsey, and Cruise brought Kelly to dinner. Cruise texted his sister on the night he was shot to break his relationship with Kelly. “I want to die,” Cruise texted Ramsay shortly before midnight. Ramsay stated that he suspected Kelly was the one who sent the message.
A neighbor said he heard gunshots 30 minutes before Kelly knocked to his door and asked for the apartment complex’s address. Kelly was unable to accommodate the 911 driver because Cruise had lately moved into the flat. The operator suggested she ask a neighbor for the address of the apartment complex in order to find her. Shah, the group’s lawyer, stated that he purposefully delayed obtaining assistance.
