Johnny Knight Death And Obituary – Johnny Knight, 87, from Savannah passed away after a short illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, April 15th. Johnny graduated from Commercial High School in 1957. He participated in every St. Patrick’s Day Parade since the 1950s. He was the first person to ever dye his hair green in honor of the holiday. Alongside his love for St. Patrick’s Day, he was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. He earned the title of “Big Dawg Knight”. He never missed a Georgia-Florida game in over seventy years. Nothing compared to his love for his family, friends, and Georgia Football. Johnny was a legend; if you lived in Savannah you knew who he was. He was a member of South Garden Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Coleman Knight, Sr. of Milan; his mother Cora Maurine Jones Knight of Worth County; his brother, Jessie Thomas Knight; sisters, Shirly Temple Knight and Hazel Virginia Knight and great niece, Teresa Lynn White. He is survived by his siblings, Jimmy and Francis Knight, J.C. and Sarah Knight, and Darlene and Roy White. His nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Pamela, Roy, Sarah, Jimbo, Jennifer, Derek, Lisa, and Crystal and nineteen great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Baker Mccullough Funeral Home on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Johnny Bowen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Milan. Pallbearers will be Paul Bradley Jr., James C. Wilson, Jesse C. Rogers, Roy Otis White Jr., James Carter White, and John Derek White.
