    Concerning Cassie Fear

Cassandra Majchrzak Fear was a remarkable person who made the community very happy. She left her mark as an iconic businesswoman and stood as a steadfast advocate in the LGBTQIA+ community. She was also a fantastic friend and confidante. Fear had a heart full of goodness, and she was a constant source of joy and laughter.

Her essence may be compared to a bright light that could chase away any bad vibes. Whether it was via her Lakewood business, Fears Confections, or her lovely tenor voice filling in several Sweet Adeline choruses and quartets, Fear poured inclusivity, acceptance, and love on everyone who was lucky enough to be in her company. Her capacity to evoke laughter, reflection, and a sense of being loved deeply affected people.

Fear, the proprietor of Fear’s Confections in Lakewood, was questioned in April 2020 about the difficulties experienced by confectionery shops getting ready for Easter in the event of a pandemic. Regretfully, her store had to close in March following a prosperous 13-year run.

    GoFundMe Fear Cassandra
Wendy Benson, an Elyria, Ohio resident, set up this GoFundMe page to assist the family with burial fees and other bills during this trying time. Out of a $10,000 target, the “Cassandra Fear” fundraiser page has so far raised $50 USD.

With her $300 donation, Goodhand-Krell was the most giving individual. A statement on the fundraiser website said, “All proceeds donated will go directly to Cassandra’s husband and children to fund her final expenses.”
